As previously announced, the old Drive desktop sync client for Mac and PC—a feature officially known as “Google Drive for Mac/PC”—will start to shut down on May 12th, 2018. After May 12th, the sync client may not work for bConnected Google accounts.

Hi Ian,

I would suggest you try the followings to check if there is any improvement:

1. Click OneDrive icon and select Preferences, under Account tab, stop sync all folders, then unlink this Mac and quit OneDrive.
2. Remove the synced folders from your Mac and empty trash.
3. Sign out of your Mac and sign in again, then add your account to OneDrive to check if the error exists.

If the issue persists, I would like to confirm some information for troubleshooting:

1. Does the error appear right after you add your account to OneDrive or after some other steps? Please share the detailed steps you perform before it prompts the error.
2. What about change a different destination folder for your OneDrive for Business files?

Please make sure the file path isn't too long, since there is a limitation of OneDrive for Business stating that the entire path, including the file name, must contain fewer than 255 characters.

1. To clarify whether the issue is specific to your user account or your entire tenant, I would like to confirm whether there are other people in your company who have the same problem.

I’ve completed the first three steps and can confirm this has no affect.

Troubleshooting steps I've taken;

1. Sync client is downloaded and installed.
2. Username and password entered successfully.
3. At the point of choosing the destination location for the OneDrive folder, it allows me to select where I want.
   1. I choose the default area and press next (which is below the 255 characters).
   2. I have tried changing from the default location but this does not rectify the issue.
4. Upon pressing next, I am presented with the error message; 'Sorry, we can't add your 'OneDrive - localfilename' folder at the moment. Please try again'
5. The only option available now is for me to close the application.
6. The error occurs on all Mac’s within the company.

Regarding the OneDrive version you provided is not the latest one, please updating your OneDrive to the latest version to check whether the issue can be fixed. For your reference: New OneDrive sync client release notes.

Besides, we would like to confirm the information below for further troubleshooting:

1. If convenient, please try adding your Account to OneDrive sync client on a Windows computer to check if it exhibits same behavior.
2. Your tenant information via private message.
3. A screenshot of the error message.

1. I have updated the client to Version 17.3.6945 (0724) and the problem persists unfortunately.
2. I have added my account to a Windows 10 machine, and do not have the same problem.

Are you the global admin of your company?

If so, please go to Office 365 admin center>Admin centers>OneDrive admin center, check whether the option Allow syncing only on PCs joined to specific domains is checked. If so, please click Edit domains, check whether the option Block sync on Mac OS is selected. If so, please uncheck it and click Save. then try to sync your OneDrive for Business files on Mac to check the result.

If you are not global admin of your company, please contact your IT department and let the global admin perform the steps above, then try to sync OneDrive for Business files on Mac to check the result.

If the issue persists, for further investigation, could you share with us your tenant information in the private message I sent to you previously?
