In late October, we purchased vSphere Essentials 6 to upgrade our vSphere Essentials 5 system all on a Dell R530. Dell says it's compatible, VMware says it's compatible, everyone is happy. I'm especially happy that the web client says it's Mac compatible.
Following the upgrade guide we install vCenter 6 and attached the ESXi host to it. This is where the issues start with 'Mac compatible'. Apparently, it's fully compatible with Mac OS 10.9 and below (current is 10.12). Let's put aside the requirement of Adobe Flash for a moment and just talk about trying to get this up an running. Noting the slight delay in Mac compatibility, I fire up a Windows VM and connect via IE. That doesn't fully work either. For whatever reason, the browser plugin doesn't launch in IE on Windows 10 either.
I had to fire up the old vSphere client to connect to the ESX server directly in order to export an OVA for one of my guys.
Is there a trick on getting the Web Client to work well?
