Vpn Client For Mac Checkpoint
I had such a hard time getting this figured out and when the solution was so freakin simple I felt I had to share.
I started to get an error when trying to connect to a checkpoint VPN using an endpoint client on my Macbook. The error was during the install and following attempts to run the program a pop up window would appear. In this window was the simple phrase 'Failed to create TrAPI'.
VPN Tracker is the leading Apple Mac VPN client and compatible with almost all IPSec VPN, L2TP VPN and PPTP VPN gateways (Try VPN Tracker for free). Please refer to the following table to find out if the VPN Tracker team has already successfully tested VPN Tracker with your Check Point VPN gateway. Mac OS X 10.9.4, trying to fully uninstall VPN CheckPoint EndPoint Security and re-install, but get the 'Check - Answered by a verified Mac Support Specialist We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our website. I used to use CheckPoint's VPN client on my Mac OS X (Leopard), but recently I upgraded to Snow Leopard, my VPN client stop working right after that, so I downloaded IPSecuritas and after some time I was able to VPN in.
I had talked to a MAC 'specialist' and a checkpoint security 'specialist'. I was flagergasted when both responses was along the lines of 'Hmmm, I've never seent that before, so and so works fine.'
After months of digging around the Internet and trying various things like re-installing, removing other apps and doing a fresh OS install with a restore, all of which didn't help. I finally came across the fix today, and boy was it a simple one. You know the kinds, you smack yourself in the head and call yourself some not so nice names because of how simple it was. Of course you have a few choice words for your friends on the Internet who didn't put the information out there for all to use. I also must mention the nasty words for the people who I sought help from and had their higher than mightier attitudes since 'They haven't seen it before'. I'll save that rant for another blog entry.
Anyways folks, here it is:
Mac OS X (multiple versions)
Checkpoint Endpoint Security Client (multiple versions)
Error Popup window on install and startup:
Failed to create TrAPI
Solution:
chmod to 755 /usr/local/lib
Take it easy
Hey guys, I work as a consultant for a firm with a Checkpoint firewall. I have downloaded and installed the Checkpoint Endpoint Security VPN client. During the installation, I answered no to any questions pertaining firewall etc. - I just wanted the VPN client itself.
However, after the installation, I am no longer able to use any of my pre-existing Windows VPN client connections. It does not matter whether the Checkpoint UI is running or not - shutting down the client does not fix the problem.
Uninstalling Checkpoint VPN on the other hand fixes the problem.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have both VPN clients work while being installed simultaneously? I don't need them to stay connected simultaneously, just avoiding to install/uninstall the Checkpoint client every time I have to use it is perfectly good.
Thanks!

In 2003 I ran into this issue as well: the Checkpoint IPSec VPN client was interfering with the normal Windows IPSec service; the only way that I could get the windows IPsec stuff working again was to completely remove the Checkpoint IPSec driver (plus a reboot).I'm not entirely surprised that this 'feature' of the Checkpoint client is still there.

Uneducated guess: The VPN client also installs a Windows Service that was still running after closing the client that was blocking other clients from working?
